Manga Reading Party

Postby ZepysGirl » Thu Sep 08, 2011 9:17 pm

At the meeting we decided that it would be a pretty cool idea to have a manga reading party! Jeana and I (and Brittney who doesn't know it yet!) have volunteered our house for the first one! So now we need to decide on a date/time. So, when do we wanna do this? A weekday? A weekend?

A weekend would probably be best, I'd think. That way we'd have more time to read. :)

I'm going to be out of town the weekend of the 17th, so I'd rather it not be then... And there's a UNT football game on the 24th. If no one but me cares about that, though, I can skip that. XD Maybe the 25th might be good? What do you guys think?

Dude this sounds like an awesome idea! I usually work on the weekends, but if the weekends are the only possibilities for people please have more than one of these parties so I can go whenever I am off xD

Nahal, we could have something on a weekday, too! I just suggested weekends because then we can have more time. I'm pretty sure we'll be having more than one Manga Reading Party, in any case.

Yes, kurumilover, we have two kittens. ^_^

If we're opening it to weekdays too, then I'm good pretty much any Monday-Tuesday-Wednesday. Thursdays are MEK, obviously. And Fridays I work.

Weekdays are cool for me (I have improv on Mondays, but that doesn't start until 8 ), but starting the 26th, I'm going to start having a weird schedule with theatre run crews and such, so I would prefer this to happen before that if possible.

Hm, so if Tuesdays seem good for people, then maybe we could have the first one on the 20th? That would give us enough time to announce it at the meeting. And we could have a follow-up on the 24th or 25th, for the people who can't make it on Tuesday. I'll ask the Circle which weekend day they prefer at the meeting.

We could start at 4pm or so, and kick people out around 10? I'm just a little worried about feeding everyone. ^_^; So maybe it should be a bring-your-own-dinner thing, or we could all chip in money for pizza... depends on how many of us show up, really. I've never planned one of these before, so I wouldn't know. xD

That sounds amazing! I get out of class at 4:50 and take the bus to my car so I should be ready by 5:30 to head over to your place ^^ I will probably just go somewhere and get my food and bring it over to eat xD
